Application of Zircon Powder:

1. The zircon powder is used for mold wash and ceramic cores in investment casting (precision casting) industry.

2. The zircon powder is used as a main body material and used for glazing in ceramic industry, so the wear resistance and surface finish of the prepared ceramic ware are increased.

3. The zircon powder has special application in many chemical industries, including cosmetics, cement, food preservation, leatherworking and fibers (used for preparing flame-retardant fibers).

4. With high refractive index of 1.93-2.01 and chemical stability, the zircon powder is high-quality low-price emulsion, is widely used for production of various building ceramics, sanitary ceramics, daily ceramics and first-class artware ceramics and so on, and has a wide use range and large applied amount during processing and production of ceramic glaze. The zircon powder is widely applied to ceramic production because the zircon powder has good chemical stability, is not influenced by ceramic sintering atmosphere and can obviously improve the glaze-body bonding property of the ceramics and improve the hardness of ceramic glaze surfaces. The zircon powder is further applied to color picture tubes in television industry, emulsified glass in glass industry and enamel glaze production. The zircon powder has high melting point of 2,500℃, so the zircon powder is widely applied to refractory materials, glass kiln zircon ramming materials, castables and spraying materials.

Application Field of Zircon Sand:

Zircon sand is used for refractory materials (zircon refractory materials such as zircon corundum bricks, zircon refractory fibers, casting sand (precision casting sand) in casting industry and ceramic and enamel ware), as well as production of glass, metal (sponge zirconium) and zirconium compounds (zirconium dioxide, zirconium oxychloride, sodium zirconate, potassium fluozirconate, zirconium sulfate and so on).
